1080p HDR or 2K without HDR?

I have a question,

I currently have a 1080p HDR monitor for my PS5 and now have a 2K monitor without HDR. My question is, should I stick with my 1080p or get the 2K one? I played with 2K at my friend's house without HDR, and the colors took some getting used to.

This is a good question that depends on your personal preferences and your budget. 😊

1080p with HDR means you have a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, but with a higher contrast and a larger color palette.

2k without HDR means that you have a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, but without the additional contrast and the colors of HDR.

The choice between 1080p with HDR or 2k without HDR depends on what is more important to you: image quality or image sharpness. It also depends on how big your screen is and how far you sit away from it.

You should also remember that 2k without HDR is usually more expensive than 1080p with HDR, both in the screens and in the graphics cards/consoles you need for it. So if you have a limited budget, 1080p with HDR can be a good option to get a good picture without spending too much money.

I hope this answer will help you make a decision. However, I have to warn, HDR is not the same better, HDR can be either EXTREMELY bright or EXTREMELY dark, as you already need a really good screen that regulates one nicely. And at 1080p HDR is not worth it straight if you now have 4k or 8K, I can understand HDR or just a mini LED display. And with a 23-27 inch "monitor" it doesn't use much if a real TV already does.

I find HDR terrible in most games. It's usually too dark. Don't play with my PS5.
For movies this is another thing that has been filmed so that it fits but in games you just see nothing inside.
