1 SSD or 2 SSDs where one is just for Windows and small data and the other is for games etc.?
Would it be better to have one large SSD https://geizhals.de/western-digital-wd-black-sn770-nvme-ssd-2tb-wds200t3x0e-a2672116.html?hloc=at&hloc=de with everything installed on it? Or would it be better to have two SSDs of different sizes, one just for Windows and small data https://geizhals.de/crucial-p5-plus-ssd-500gb-ct500p5pssd8-a2576840.html?hloc=at&hloc=de and the other for games etc. https://geizhals.de/adata-xpg-gammix-s70-1tb-agammixs70-1tt-c-a2447888.html?hloc=at&hloc=de ? Please provide a reason/explanation. Thanks. This is the PC configuration https://geizhals.de/?cat=WL-2662166 .
I prefer an M2 SSD for Windows to have important programs (such as browser, office and co). The then best even in pcie4.0 for neat speed. Games and other data can then benefit from a cheap SATA SSD because they do not really benefit from the speed of a m2.
You can then reinstall Windows without having to reload all games.
You can have it all over partitions on a big hard drive, but I liked it completely.
What choice would you take? ( Supplement )
As a boat SSD I would probably have taken something like this here: https://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/500GB-Crucial-P5-Plus-3D-NAND-M-2-SSD_1421538.html
And as a data storage for games and so probably in the direction:
https://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/2TB-Crucial-BX500-2-5inch-6-4cm-SATA-3D-NAND-QLC–CT2000BX500SSD1-_1348131.html
So you have relatively much storage, a very fast boat SSD and it does not cost any kidney the whole. If a 1tb is enough you can take ne 1tb SSD instead of 2tb, but be careful not to take a qlc memory but TLC and make sure a cache is installed.
Ahhh sorry had the MX500 in his head. Actually wanted to link the MX500. I also have 3x 1tb at home in my NAS in 24/7 operation and so far for about 1 year no problems 🙂
In itself, qlc plates also work, but are not so durable. And since TLC memory modules are no longer costing worlds you can better use it.
The BX500 has QLC memory?
Thanks for not knowing about 1qlc and TLC and I didn’t even pay attention to it.
2sd are better because then more performance for the games are.
mf.
I find more and more comfortable to have 2 SSDs.
I use my 500GB SSD as a system board and install all programs there.
My 2TB SSD is virtually a pure gamesbibiliek SSD and my 2TB HDD is for remaining files that do not need fast access times
Would it be as cheaper as I would. But since the 2TB SSD is cheaper than the other two together, I prefer it. And 1.5 TB is already very close.
Yeah, well, if you finally get away cheaper and it’s important to you, of course, this is the best solution for you.
As has already been written, you can still partition internally in Windows.
I like Windows very much on my own physical disk so I can exchange it if necessary etc.
Don’t make a big difference. Would rather take a big one and then you save yourself a slot if you need more in the future.
But it doesn’t matter in itself.
I’ll probably do that as it’s cheaper and then I have 2 TB instead of only 1.5 TB.
You can partition them in such a way that two are displayed in Windows, then you have more memory overall.
I have opted for a 1TB SSD and 2x 1TB HDD for data, as there is no need for fast storage for media and backups and the costs for HDDs are significantly lower. Most extense hard drives still have HDDs installed.
Thanks for the answer, but I don’t prefer to use HDDs as they are too slow and loud to me.
Then just the one….Answer
